Founded in 1995, the Italian Orchestras Team has, over the course of these years, been able to help very many voluntary and charitable associations. “This is our main satisfaction” we were told by Sergio Rossoni – in charge of the Orchestras Team. “Knowing that people live better thanks to our efforts is a strong incentive to continue along this path”.

If charity always remains the prime objective, it must be said that, latterly, the Orchestras are really beginning to enjoy themselves: the last match was against the very popular Singers Team, which counts Eros Ramazzotti, Biagio Antonacci, Paolo Vallesi, Mengoli and many other famous interpreters of the Italian song among its ranks.

Moreno, captain of the Italian Orchestras Team and one of the main sponsors of the initiative told us: “Starting from this match we have become part of a group of important teams that have been organising sporting events for charity for many years: I mention the Racing Drivers Team, that of the TV Artists, the ‘Smemoranda’, the Journalists, the Magistrates: all teams that we will meet in soccer matches in the future “.

The challenge between the two teams of musicians took place at Mercatino Conca, a small town of the Marche hinterland on the slopes of San Marino. The income – about 10 million – was totally given to the Pope John XXIII Community of Don Benzi and the AVA Volunteers Association of Forlì.

More than a thousand spectators participated, braving the inclement weather conditions.
The match ended nil – nil. “We have numerous purposes: a match is arranged to collect funds for charity, but also as a time of artistic and personal union, in which to find new ideas, new inspiration” – explained Moreno.
And then, naturally, to enjoy ourselves all together and with our public, which always follows us with great interest”.
In the days preceding it, the event was promoted in the newspapers, on TV and radio, in dance halls and through the components of the Orchestras themselves. The “Musica E” Association of Moreno, whose purpose is to promote and valorise dance music, looked after the organisational aspects. The match was filmed by RAI TV cameras. Moreno concluded with a special thank-you: “Clay Paky is the company that gave us the opportunity of having these experiences, both as the sponsor of the Italian Orchestras Team and because it is a large family, a reference point for us. And then it’s a company that, supplying projectors for very many events and installations at national and international level, is in very close contact with the world of spectacle, so it fully understands and supports our initiatives and our requirements”.
