Tina Turner’s Live in Concert Tour recently topped the concert category in the “Excellence Awards” organized by Live Design. The concert was nominated by Clay Paky, which supplied the tour with eighty Alpha Beam 300s, its new moving body ACL light that has had resounding commercial success in recent months.
The Excellence Awards are assigned each year to the best live shows in the concert, theatre production, venue and corporate event categories by on-line voting. The 2009 winners were chosen from among nominated events which took place between September 2007 and August 2008. The awards will be officially presented on 19 May in New York during the annual Live Design Master Classes dinner at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.

The living soul music legend Tina Turner, winner of 8 Grammy Awards, returned to the stage after several years of absence with a tour that included eighty dates in North America and Europe. The show was a retrospective of her whole career, supported by spectacular production, a top class accompanying band, original choreographies and extraordinary lighting equipment, including Clay Paky Alpha Beam 300s.
